The Rally Point: 69th Chipmunk Facebook Group
The Chipmunk Scurry Leader: Jessica Worle
What started as a whimsical idea by Den leader Marika Beck and Timberwolfmaster Ruhiyyih Wittwer of the 55th Cascadia on a campout early in 2013, has become a semi-formal section with recognition at the first Hullabaloo all-section campout. Morgan West is the Chipmunk Scurrymaster and is working with other leaders at the local and national level to develop a fun and engaging program for our youngest scouts.
Chipmunks are a common sight while on our hikes and adventures, especially at Otter meetings and activities. These Chipmunks are the unofficial first scout level within the 69th Rangers. Interestingly, many other BPSA scout groups across the nation have also adopted and started their own Chipmunk “Scurries”.
Chipmunk section is composed of the little brothers and sisters that are not of Otter age, but tag along on some of our activities. Be warned, these scouts are incredibly cute and clever, and with all of their exposure to scouting, they will be superb Otters. The Chipmunk section is known as the Pile, and is sub-divided into Bumps. Chipmunks have their own scout sign (right hand by right cheek; fingers folded over into palm).
We value our families and all of the energy and skill they bring with them. We want every family member to be involved in scouting.
